Accessibility statement

At 9 Spaces, we want everyone to be able to use our website and digital services with as few restrictions as possible – regardless of their individual circumstances. That’s why we’re continuously working to make our content more accessible.

Legal basis

This statement is based on the Berlin Act on Accessible Information and Communication Technology (BIKTG Bln). Technically, we follow the requirements of the current Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV).

This statement applies to our online offer at: www.9spaces.de/en.

How accessible is our website?

Our website is partially accessible. Some areas do not yet meet all requirements – but we’re working to improve this.

What we’ve already implemented

As a small, independent team, we put a lot of effort into content, technology, and user-friendliness. Accessibility isn’t an add-on for us but an important part of our responsibility – even though we haven’t yet reached our goal.

We are already actively implementing the following measures:

  • Our platform is responsive – optimised for all devices.
  • Images include meaningful ALT texts.
  • We ensure a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 between text and background. For large text and interface elements, the ratio is at least 3:1 – according to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
  • Content is written in clear and simple language wherever possible.
  • The website can be navigated without a mouse – using only the keyboard.
  • Videos, where available, are provided with subtitles whenever possible.
  • We use HTML elements semantically correctly (e.g.
    ,
    ,
    ) to support assistive technologies.
  • The website’s content, appearance, and functionality are structurally separated.
  • No automatic content: we don’t use auto-playing videos, sounds, or animations that can’t be paused.
  • Most of the platform includes accessible error and status messages (e.g. for incorrect password entries) that are clearly understandable and perceivable via screen reader.

When was this accessibility statement created or last updated?

This statement was created on 1 August 2025 and last reviewed on 30 January 2026. It was based on a self-assessment by the 9 Spaces team.

What’s not yet perfect (and what we’re doing about it)

We want to be transparent about what still needs improvement and what we’re actively working on.

What we’re currently working on:

  • ALT texts for all images – a few exceptions are still missing. → Completion of missing ALT texts is in progress, but no final completion date has been set yet.
  • Full keyboard accessibility for all controls, on all devices and in all views. → Implementation is underway, though no final completion date is set yet.
  • Making our PDF documents more accessible and structurally compliant (e.g. according to PDF/UA standards). → We’re currently exploring how to implement this effectively – no timeline yet.
  • User testing with people with disabilities to include real experiences and perspectives in our development process. → We’re currently evaluating how to implement this effectively – no timeline yet.
  • On some pages, we use embedded third-party services – for example, for surveys or meeting bookings. These components aren’t yet fully integrated into our accessibility checks and may have limitations. → We’re currently reviewing possible alternatives or clearer user guidance – no specific timeline yet.
  • We currently don’t offer telephone support for accessibility queries. However, you can reach us at any time by email – we’ll respond as quickly as possible. → No hotline is planned at present. We’re considering introducing an accessible callback service in the medium term.

Feedback? We’d love to hear from you!
